Vancouver Laptop/Computer buying guide and seller responsibilities
Vancouver Laptop / Buying guide
Know the computer. Know the seller.
Choose for the work you do, understand the exact unit, and confirm the complete offer before paying.
Start with your work
What will this computer do?
A specification is only useful in context.
Choose your main use to see what to check. Select it again or click outside this section to clear it.
Start with the applications you use every day.
Check the exact operating-system version, video-call camera and microphone, keyboard layout, charger and the displays you want to connect. More memory helps when several applications stay open, but an advertised processor family alone does not establish compatibility.
Check your application version, codecs, project size, GPU requirements and external displays. Confirm both memory and storage. On many Apple Silicon Macs, memory cannot be upgraded later. A short test using your own non-private sample project is more useful than a broad “creative laptop” label.
Ask for the exact graphics processor, its memory and the laptop power configuration. A gaming brand does not establish performance. Confirm the screen refresh rate, cooling condition and game compatibility with the operating system.
Record the models, tools, virtual machines or containers you intend to run. Required memory depends on the workload, model size and precision. Confirm GPU and framework support. A large memory figure does not promise a particular model speed or fit.
Confirm the processor, memory, storage and exact operating-system version on the computer being supplied. Check the publisher’s current application requirements. An installed operating system is not proof that the hardware is officially supported.
Ask whether the images show this exact unit or a representative model. Look for a clear description of screen marks, keyboard wear, case damage, missing parts and every known fault. A cosmetic grade is not a function test.
Ask for battery health, cycle count where available, measurement date and charger type. “Holds a charge” is not a measured runtime. No battery result is supplied in this catalogue unless it is explicitly shown.
Confirm lawful ownership and that activation, firmware and organisation-management locks have been removed. A factory reset alone does not prove release from an organisation’s management account.
Ask what was tested, when, and by whom. Useful checks include the display, keyboard, trackpad, ports, Wi-Fi, audio, camera and charging. Confirm the included charger, cables and any extra accessories.
Open the seller’s current listing. Confirm availability, currency, applicable tax, delivery or collection, returns, warranty and the contact for a claim. A saved order request is not an accepted order or a payment.
Who does what
One listing. A named seller.
The marketplace
Vancouver Laptop helps you browse and compare. A catalogue entry is a dated view of the seller’s information, not a live stock reservation.
The selling business
The named seller confirms the exact unit, accepts the order, supplies it and explains its return and warranty terms.
Your next service
Repair, recovery, setup and forensic work are separate services with their own assessment and quote. Buying a laptop does not enrol you in a service plan.
If an existing device has failed, decide whether you need the files before authorising a reset, replacement drive or trade-in. A replacement computer does not recover data from the old one.
For a damaged or repeatedly disconnecting drive, stop repeated attempts and request an assessment. If the data may be evidence in a dispute, describe that need before repair or recovery changes the device.
